Troop 109 Florence, MA
Retired Master Chief Petty Officer Britt K. Slabinski, an Eagle Scout.
On May 24, 2018, Master Chief Slabinski was awarded the Medal of Honor during a White House ceremony for his actions while leading a team under heavy effective enemy fire in an attempt to rescue teammate Petty Officer First Class Neil Roberts during Operation ANACONDA in 2002. Master Chief Slabinski's selfless actions throughout the 14-hour battle constituted gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty.
The Medal of Honor is the military’s highest honor, and Britt is just the 7th Navy Seal member to receive the award for his heroic actions.
Britt earned Scouting’s highest rank on March 9, 1984, as a member of Troop 109 of Northampton, Mass.
